Duchy of Celestarén (Duchy of SELL-EHS-TAR-EHN)
One of the territories of Arkenhorn, this land was home to Lady Soirah and is the heart of Arkenhorn. This Duchy holds the capital of The Queendom of Arkenhorn, the Magisterium Arcanum, and is also known as the Royal Duchy.
Culture
The people of Celestarén are all about grand displays. Shining knights of glory, magnificent leaders, humble folk heroes. All of these archetypes are at home in Celestarén. Where Buckingskeep is drab, Celestarén is ostentacious. The people of here like to display the treasures they have found and wealth they have earned through their fantastical deeds. This place breeds a people who are ripe to be adventuerers.
Wealth in Celestarén is only worth flaunting if you won it. Inherritied wealth is acceptable and can be a useful tool to push you to greater heights but relying on it or using mercantile methods to expand that wealth is seen as lazy, dishonourable, and, most of all, rather dull. Seizing wealth from those who do not deserve, plundering ancient temples, searching dark places; these are the things that should beget wealth.

Celestarén is officially seperate from the monarchy. However its close ties to the Queendom's history, its placement in the homelands of the queen, and the fact that the Duchess is nearly always a cousin of the reiging monarch means that it fairly reliably tows the line of the monarchy.
Celestatén strives to ensure the Queendom thrives and never sits back on its laurels. It pushes to ensure that lands are explored, boundaries pushed, and battles are won. They are likely to push for war if there is a slight against the Queendom and always encourages royal commisions to worthy adventuring groups to find great tales to tell.
