Magisterium Arcanum (MAH-JIS-TEER-IUM AR-CAR-NUM)

The Magisterium Arcanum is an organisation that pre-dates The Queendom of Arkenhorn. It was founded by high mages of the time as a way of preserving magical knowledge and history and controlling its use in the north. Since the unification, the Magisterium technically fall under the control of the Queen of Arkenhorn, but it has its own laws and is allowed to run fairly autonomously with its own laws and legal system. Even before the unification, mages from accross the continent came to The Citadel to study at the Magisterium Arcanum and it is the destiny of many second born children of noble families and wealthy merchants. The Magisterium Legalis is the central bank for magical law which has been codified into the law of Arkenhorn and can be enforced by agents of the Magisterium, usually members of Order of the Magisterium.
