Rosaria de Angelis

Rosaria de Angelis was one of the founders of the modern-day Vostene Republic who stood up for her nation in its rise. She was a human cavalier known for her motivational speeches, high energy, and violent streak against those who crossed her loved ones, and she was a lesser member of the former nobility of Vosmeno.
She was inspired to revolt after the ruling family sent her parents to die on the battlefield, her brothers to die in their defence, and her younger sister to be married to someone she considered an abomination. She wrested control of her family and faction, stole back her sister, and slaughtered the royal pig that she'd been sent to. In so doing, she recruited a number of her fellow guards and fighters to her cause, and would ride out with them to the aid of the royal heir when he tried to defect from his family's control for the sake of love.
She survived the revolution and the rebuilding of the republic. She fell to an assassin's blade, but not in shadow: she had caught him in the attempt, and challenged him to a duel in the sunlight, overlooking her favourite vista in Vaciliano. She had lost many battles in her long life, but this was one she was not so upset to lose - her death was graceful, in the end.
