Laan'Ithilian Republic
Descended from Drow who resurfaced the Laan'Ithil are an open race who focus on diplomacy and self defense.
History
The Laan'Ithil were once true members of the Drow race, they were the worshippers of Eilistraee. They were at first a cult surviving in the lands of Lolth and her followers but as they grew in numbers Eilistraee's influence grew stronger until such a time that they became an entire faction of their own. They waged war against the followers of Lolth in a bid for their freedom from her tainted influence and after many years of fighting they finally resurfaced to the world above.
As they broke free of the shackles of the underdark Eilistraee blessed her fllowers with a new appearance, changing their physiology that they may once more live above ground.
Demography and Population
The vast majority of the republic is made up of Moon Elves though there are some humans and half moon-elves, less common are other subraces of elves, dwarves, halfling and tieflings. Occasionally there are newly liberated Drow in the cities but they rarely seen except at night.
Military
The Moon Elf military is entirely defence orientated, they have little interest in attacking other cultures and as such they invest more in defensive buildings and strategies.
Religion
Though the Laan'Ithilian no long associate with the dark Seldarin, they do still have great affection for Eilistraee whom they believe has finally left the dark Seldarin following their ascent back to the surface and further blessed by their gradual change into the Moon-Elves
Foreign Relations
The Laan'ithil though only relatively new to the continent are still an emerging culture by elf standards and as such they try to keep their diplomatic options open, hesitant to make any enemies the Moon Elves are often open armed with friendship to anyone they meet sometimes to their own detriment.
This open political stance however as helped sway some of the stigma they originally faced when they first left the Underdark.
Agriculture & Industry
The long nights of the Darklands make farming difficult in the region but not impossible. The Moon-Elves survive upon a diet of potatoes, carrots, cabbages and other vegetables that grow well in dark places. They have also successfully learned to keep surface animals such as cows, pigs, sheep and goats.
Trade & Transport
Trade from the Republic is mostly in the form of culture as the Moon Elves retain their hedonistic values from the Underdark but now those practices are expressed through art, song and written stories.
Education
The Laan'ithil prize education and as with many elves, they live for long enough that they have plenty of time to learn.

The Collective of the Wain propose and debate upon all notions put forward to the council on behalf of those that they represent. Once an edict is passed the Chroniclers of the Council confer and physically write the rules into law.
Judicial Body
The Chroniclers serve as both clerks and administrators, if any law is ever brought into question they are charged to see it carried out.
