Lunarium

The seat of power in the city of Melo'ithil, the Lunariam houses both the crystals that the Moon Elves utilise that they might keep the sunlight at bay for longer to go about their nocturnal business. It is also functions as their centre of government as the council meets here in it's main central chamber.

Purpose / Function

The Lunariam is the capital building of the Laan'Ithil and it serves a range of purposes both administrative and functional. It's main central domed building is the main council chamber of the republic and the council is held here every day in front of the serving Archon.
Surrounding the main chamber are four high magical towers that dominate the skyline, inside of these towers are the crystals that the Moon Elves use to help keep the sun at bay for longer so that they might continue their nocturnal lifestyle.
Behind the main domed building are the Archon's personal living quarters as well as several living and working wings which house both administrative works, important documents and historical artefacts and the Lunariams garrison.

Alterations

The building was purpose built for its current function though it has been reinforced and extended since it's original completion. Extra wings have been added for both living quarters, defence and religious purpose dependant on the current serving Archon.

Architecture

The main council building and it's four surrounding towers are all made from a white stone that is common in this region, the Laan'ithil favour white in their buildings foundations as a connection to their favoured goddess.

History

The Lunariam wasn't built until at least a century after the Moon Elves first returned to the surface as their society changed and adapted. Before then the council had met in a smaller chamber that was partially underground built into the mountain and the magical crystals were used from smaller towers around the city, though their lack of height and magical attunement made them less effective than their current housing.
