Laan'Ithilian Elvish (Language)

Following their resurfacing the Moon Elf language began to split away from Drowic, as new words were assimilated from other cultures and the language gained new slang and syntax. Now the two languages are separate entities but it is possible for more learned Moon Elves to translate Drow with some time and vice versa.   The written language itself is somewhat more complicated to translate as the Moon Elves did away with high Drowic and instead improved upon low Drowic to make it more versatile. Now the language still reads right to left but in rows and features punctuation. This was partially to confuse the drow in the early days of the insurrection but eventually became commonplace in the Laan'ithilian culture.

Geographical Distribution

The Laan'Ithil language is an offshoot of the Drow language, it is mixed in with some surface languages and other new words added by the Laan'ithil since they ascended. It has stayed relatively contained with very few outside speakers though in the nearest cities of other cultures there are some who can speak their language.   This is also true of Drow societies underground though they use it for subterfuge and to sow dissent in their surface cousins.
