The Horn of Elistra

The warhorn of the historical figure Elistra Dennetus is an important cultural artefact to the Laan'ithil, though it is only mildly magical the Moon-Elves treat it with the greatest respect. The horn was blown on the dusk of the first night returning to the surface and it is during this use that the Moon-elves were transformed from Drow and into the Moon-elves that they are today. Since then the horn has become a major cultural symbol to the Laan'ithil and it's image are used throughout the republic.
It is during the transformation that the horn gained it's magical connection and became entwined with Eilistraee's magic and now the horn is capable of healing the wounds of those within it's near vicinity.

Significance

Though it's use is purely symbolic the warhorn of Elistra is a majorly important cultural artefact. Elistra is considered amongst the Laan'ithil to be the first true Moon-Elf and she later became the first Archon of the new race. Being the first to don the mask her horn Elistra's horn became part of the Moon-elf culture and her horn was passed down to the successor, a rite which has become part of the formal process of electing a new Archon.
Now the warhorn is kept secured within the Lunariam and only taken out for ceremonial occasions. Though it is a part of the Archon's ceremonial clothing so should a foreign dignitary attend the Archon the horn is generally worn at their hip.

The horn itself is made from a Minotaurs horn and it is wrapped with several bands of Drow steel. Upon one side the symbol of the Laan'ithilian uprising is embossed onto the metals surface.
