Deezundeer Mountains

The Deezundeer Mountains, also known as the Aodhuwmm Mountains, are a medium-height mountain range in the mid-southwestern section of Melas. It extends from south of the gnomish settlement (and partially into the Great Sea) north-northeast through the Little Tenylus River to the border of the Tenylus River. The range is volcanic in origin, and its tallest peak is Mount Makathessa, a long-dormant volcano. The most prominent settlement is a town known as Tolastata, claimed as the ancestral home of both the Rock Gnomes and Builder Gnomes.

Ecosystem

The mountain range is temperate to cool, but boasts a variety of volcanic-originating flora and fauna. Periodic hotspots, springs, sulphur pools and caverns can be found throughout the range, feeding into the life and biodiversity.

Localized Phenomena

Mount Makathessa is the only mountain that has ever shown any overt signs of volcanic activity, although there are several areas that sport hot springs, mud baths, geysers and other similar phenomena.

The isolated valley community of Ginnyvale was built inside the fertile caldera of a dormant volcano.

Natural Resources

Sulpher has been found in the mountains, as well as other volcanic-related materials.
