Isle of Melas

The Isle of Melas is an island continent gaming land divided into three distinct regions:

1. KRYLA - Progressive coalition of humans and other good-aligned races
2. LAYNA - Repressive authoritarian civilization led by humans, ruling other humans and subject races
3. WILDLANDS - Many native settlements, isolated villages and minor alliances of little-known history and power

The Krylan Coalition and the Laynan Empire are two human-based civilizations that have historically been in conflict with one another but share a common origin. A brother and sister led settlers to the island but split into two factions after a disagreement. Each led half their group in different directions, and have been at odds off and on ever since.
The Wildlands contain humans who for whatever reason declined to stay in either Krylan or Layna, and a large number of non-human, native inhabitants.
  A number of non-human races are indigenous to the island and have interacted with human settlers in different ways over the centuries. Some became allies, some were conquered and some have withdrawn into their own communities.
