Career

Qualifications

An admiral is appointed. There is no specific requirments for a person to become an Admiral, but it is very rare for them to be less than 30 years old, been an officer for less 10 years, and be anything but incredibly trustworthy. A bit of politics never hurts though, as while the appointments are not political, they must interact with a lot of political people.

Career Progression

Becoming an admiral is typically the high point of any military career. Typically after 2-3 rounds on the role, so around 6-9 years, step down and become an administrative rear admiral. After this, they maintain the higher pension of a former admiral, as well as some other perks. Often one of the admirals will be tapped to take over the role of PDRMN Chief, CNC or CEO, but they also sometimes promote from within. Typically a CNC is promoted to PDRMN Chief, but CHF and COF has happened before.

A retired admiral also has the right to hitch rides on any PDRMN ship, and very rarely can they be denied that. In addition, any past admiral is a high value target, and the PDRMN will keep an eye on them, and move heaven and earth to get them back or avenge them.
