Kingdom of Lofenia

Built upon old dwarfen ruins, the Kingdom of Lofenia has risen to become a great power in the Iromar Isles. From their ancestral home of Bjorkadir , the Lofenians sail out as traders and raiders alike. Their mighty longboats can be found raiding as far as the shores of the Kingdom of Hinonu.   The population of the Kingdom of Lofenia are quite shorter than most common folk. The men typically grow large impressive beards that they keep well-groomed. Their hair is typically blonde as the snow of the Cloudy Mountains or red as the rubies found below. The warriors of Lofenia are easily identifiable due to their reddish warpaint and the braids in their hair. The Lofenians honor clan and tradition above all else.   The Kingdom is governed by the King of Bjorkadir. The title of King was originally granted to the Jarl of Bjorkadir at the Elder Thing by the other Jarls. It has since been tradition that the Jarls of the Kingdom decide which heir of Bjorkadir becomes the new King. Due to this tradition, the death of a King usually leads to a time of unrest as the heirs of Bjorkadir gather support - one way or another - in order to gain the chance to sit on the Wilderwood Seat.   Most legal matters are resolved upon a yearly meeting called the Thing in the small hamlet of Bilga located nearby Bjorkadir. The King and his Jarls meets at the Thing and discusses any prominent matters concerning the Kingdom. At other times during the year, the Jarls govern their own territory and execute the laws as they see fit. The lower classes bring their legal matters to the Jarl controlling the territory they live in.
