King Harold the Young

King of Lofenia, Jarl of Bjorkadir, and Hero of the Mountains

King Harold the Young was elected king as a young man and has yet to prove himself to his people. Harold came to the throne after a fierce power struggle between the Jarls in the aftermath of the death of King Asbjorn the Wise. The reason Harold was elected as King was because he was considered the "neutral" choice since he was campaigning during the duration of the power struggle and therefore not involved in the fighting. Additionally, he was the youngest son of Asbjorn so he well-respected even though he had not yet proven himself as a ruler.

The Great Oathkeeper

Weapon Magical, Heavy, Two-Handed Legendary (this item requires attunement) [Requires a ritual called Crowning of the King, which can only be performed at Bilga by an elected King.]

The Great Oathkeeper was forged by the ancient dwarves to help protect the lands of Lofenia. During the Great War, the dwarves awarded the Great Oathkeeper to the leader of a tribe of humans, who later became the First King of Lofenia. Since then, the Great Oathkeeper has been given to each successive legitimate king of Lofenia. Whenever the King dies, the Great Oathkeeper is transported through a portal to the Ethereal Plane where it stays until a new King is elected and the ritual "Crowning of the King" is performed. The following is prophesied about the Great Oathkeeper: "The Oathkeeper Crumbles when the Kingdom Falls and its Keepers Return".   The following legendary actions can be performed with the Great Oathkeeper:   Storm of Fury: A storm cloud appears 200 meters above the location of person wielding the Great Oathkeeper if the person has a clear line of sight to place in the sky where the cloud can be formed (ie. cannot be used inside). Prerequisite for other legendary actions. The storm cloud requires concentration to be maintained and has a duration of maximum 5 hours. Can only be used once per day (recovers after a long rest).   Vengeful Blast: Requires the Storm of Fury to be performed. A bright red lightning strike blasts forth from the Storm and attacks everything in a 5 meter radius of a given position. All creatures in area must make a Dexterity saving throw with DC 15. A creature takes 2d12 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a success. Vengeful Blast can be performed as an legendary action as long as the Storm of Fury is maintained through Concentration.   Ancestral Strike: Any creatures in a 20 meter cone in front of user is hit by a powerful wind gust and must make a Dexterity or Strength saving through with DC 12 in order to prevent being knocked prone. A creature also takes 1d8 bludgeoning damage on a failed save and is moved 2 meters back from its original location.
