History

Ogres began their existence when their Ancestor tribe of Giants attempted to change the Curse of Stone. Over many years this Tribe experimented on their kin who were in various stages of the Curse, until eventually one of their Shamans determined the best method was not to change or remove the Curse but to change themselves. During their attempts to modify their physiology, Many of the Giants were lost, turned inside out or driven mad by the pain. Those that survived were changed, smaller and weaker than they once were, but alive. for a time it seemed that the Shamans planes had worked, and the Curse of Stone would no longer Plague the Ogre Tribe. Not long after, Stone Scales were found among the wounded, and the Shamans were blamed. Their sacrifice had been in vane, They were still Cursed. The Shamans of the tribe were hunted, and executed for their lies, from that point on the Ogres had a strong distrust of magic that has only relented in recent years. While no Ogre Shamans exist, they will partner with others who practice the Mystic Arts. The Ogres fled into the Deep Caverns where the Giants and the Dragons could not hunt them, and where the most hated Dwarves lived. Ogres have forgotten much of their past living off the rocks of the Deep Caverns, though they remember their hate for Dwarfkin. Even if an Ogre is starving they refuse to devour a Dwarf, letting the flesh rot away as an insult to their taste and worth. Ogres adorn their camps and armaments with Dwarven remains, many Chieftains have a collection of Dwarf scalps, and beards.

Common Myths and Legends
