Clan Names represent the collective skill of numerous Dwarven Families. as such it tends to represent the collective, they adopt a name that represents their skills, so a clan that produces mostly warriors might be clann brawnanvil or stoutshield.

Culture and cultural heritage

Argantian Dwarves are a historically religious people, worshiping their ancient gods and following the tennents laid out. even those gods lost during the long night are still honored, their traditions and dogmas still followed.

Shared customary codes and values

Argantian Dwarves are artisans at their heart, even a warrior who hasn't ever touched a hammer and chisel or anvil and hammer can respect and appreciate fine craftmenship.

Average technological level

Argantian dwarves are not quite so advanced as their Wurdgrym Cousins, though they have produced Firepowder and a level of clockwork technology from their gnome allies.

Argantian Dwarves tend to be blunt and to the point, though they don't mean to be rude it can often seem that way.

Argantian Dwarves wear their clan heraldry proudly, each clan has their own way of expressing themselves though the core design is always function over form.

Dwarven architecture is solid and build to withstand ages of use and conflict, most often build from stone, with heroic statues of former leaders and heroes and icons to their gods engraved into many of their structures.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Dwarves are exposed to a wide array of tasks as they are educated to find what they might be best suited to, once their aptitudes have been discovered they rarely recieve formal training outside of their field.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

Dwarven births are a massive celebration, nearly the entire community is invited to a childs birthing, and birthday events seldom have less than three hundred guests.

Coming of Age Rites

all dwarves are expected to serve some time in the military, to gain experience, regardless of their trade or profession, meaning that in times of war every dwarf can serve as a member of the militia.

Funerary and Memorial customs

when a dwarf dies, the entire clan mourns the loss as if it was their own offpsring, bringing gifts for the family and friends the body is entombed within a clan crypt, following the burrial rights of that particular clan.

Common Taboos

disrespecting ones family and clann in Argantian culture is considered a serious offense, this can be seen in many ways such as refusing a clanmasters request, or scurting tradition and not joining the military. it is also taboo for a dwarf to disrespect the teachings of their gods, and often find themselves exiled for such an offense.

Common Myths and Legends

Dwarves consider themselves direct descendants of the gods, Meldrus and the other now desceased dwarf gods carving them from stone of the world, and using the fires of the inner core to breathe life into the stone forms.

Historical figures

King Daermar the third instituted the policy of encasing the spirits of fallen heros into Mechan bodies to honor the fallen, and to protect the empire in times of dire need. Reynryl Murkahm was the first Dwarf to become a Mechan, when she protected the Emperors son and gave her life to retrieve him from Khoven assassins.

Beauty Ideals

Argantian and Wurdgrym Dwarves both preffer strong and sturdy lovers, though it isn't uncommon for Argantian Dwarves to see those traits in races that Wurdgrym dwarves often wouldn't consider such as elves.

Gender Ideals

Argantian Dwarves are slightly less progressive than their wayward cousins, as a woman bears the child and nurses them. while women are given every privilage and right as males, they are expected to tend and care for the children.

Courtship Ideals

it is more common for Women in Argantian society to approach a man, though males are permited to approach a woman as well. Dwarves show affection in strange ways to outsiders eyes. they berrate and playfully mock their partners, trying to show off and one up eachother.

Relationship Ideals

Dwarves preffer to have one lover, and one spouse for their entire lives, often becoming celibate upon the death of their spouse. it isn't forbidden for one to remarry, though it is rare.

the Dwarves of Argantus have numerous clans that serve countless purposes, while each clan provides a wide asortment of services there is no doubt that the clans have specialties.
