Brigantine
Originally, brigantines were small ships carrying both sails and oars 6-16 oars on each side. However, a few centuries ago, the shipbuilders of Sanctuary built upon that design and created the ship known as the brigantine today.
Today’s brigantines are two-mast sailing ships with square rigging on the foremast and fore-and-aft rigging on the mainmast with the mainmast being the second and taller of the two masts.
Brigantines are some of the most common ships found on The Farthest Expanse . This is due to their large cargo size being appealing to merchants, traders, pirates, and anyone who needs to ship something across the ocean.
Propulsion
Brigantines are equipped with a fully square-rigged foremast, a mainsail with a topsail and a gaff sail, and double lateen-rigged mizzenmasts. There are also 42 oars for maneuvering the ship in calm winds.

Armor and defense
The best defense is a good offense. Due to armor or metal weighing ships down, brigantines do not have much in the way of armor. Instead, the captain and crew rely on the people in the crow's nests to see danger before it arrives so they can be the first to fire their cannons or flee the area.
Communication Tools & Systems
Signal flags and falcons are used to communicate with other ships.
