Scions of the Core
Structure
Within the Scions of the Core there is no structure apart from seniority, as all members of the Scions answer directly to Aion himself, and are given their tasks from him.
Public Agenda
The Scions exist to better instruct the peoples of the Ashlands in how Aion wishes they would live their lives, and serve as community leaders, advisors and, in times of great peril, the last line of defense.
Assets
Every temple across the Ashlands belongs to the Scions, including the Temple Ignae
Divine Origins
Founded by Aion in 1213 BE in order to allow him to focus his attention away from micromanaging the lives of the Ifriti. Their new duties would be as spiritual advisors to the community as well as Aion's mouthpiece to the masses, spreading his teachings throughout the population. They would also soon come to be in charge of the Emberwights that Aion had created, leading them to become responsible for the dead, animate and inanimate. After the sacking of Aljarn the Scions would be permitted to use their divine gifts in the defense of their communities against acts of aggression, leading to them becoming the last line of defense for any community.
Cosmological Views
The Scions understand that the world existed long before Aion awoke, and that it was created by the Primordials, however they also understand that the Ashlands were brought into being by Aion and they would not exist without his actions.
Tenets of Faith
Aggression is for the weak-willed, other avenues must be sought before the Hammer is brought down
The community comes first, individualism will lead to the death of all Ifriti
Justice must be sought against all crimes and criminals
Rigidity is death when fire surrounds us, we must accept change like flowing water
In life we live as he commands, and in death we serve when he calls
Priesthood
Scions of the Core are chosen by Aion himself out of the various trainees at the Temple Ignae, he evaluates them and only those that truly understand Aoin and his desires can be appointed to the Scions. Once an trainee becomes a Scion, their body becomes altered, turning a smooth pale white with small patterns of charcoal scales along the base of the legs and arms. Additionally, they become wreathed in a holy white flame at all times, which is a display of the Scion's faith as well as their own personal control over their Inner Flame, as the flame does not burn anyone unless the Scion determines it must be done.
