Kharahal Charter College

Purpose / Function

This local education based chapter of the Iarion Mages Charter exists to provide a more remote location for magical education. It has been placed in Kharahal specifically to provide a local education 'node' for the entire Frontier, so that prospective students needn't travel to Iarion or other Colleges.

Alterations

Originally the College was the headquarters for the Order of the Whispervine, somewhat of a rival organization of Occultists in the Frontier that have been out-competed by the Charter. This structure possessed around six floors above ground and three subterranean levels, though since the Charter took over ownership they have gutted the structure, reinforced its construction and replaced the entire interior with extra-dimensional spaces. Many within the city have criticized the Charter's egregious display of wealth, especially due to the fact that the building was owned by a competitor, however Headmaster Drizax has expressed that they only did what was necessary and within the Charter's specifications.

Architecture

The exterior of the College matches with the local architecture, resembling more of a 19th century mansion than a school. Within the halls of the College are 'stone'-worked floors, bright and colourful walls (different pigments for different departments), dark wood supports and doors and enchanted lights suspended in the air of each hallway.

Defenses

A single 14ft tall stone wall runs the perimeter of the College, with a large iron 'gate' providing the only physical access way, though this gate requires magic to open and close as it is magically suspended. During times of duress the College has a system of temporal and dimensional barriers that prevent teleportation in/out/within the College. In addition the College is protected by a cadre of Wytchguard, those assigned to the local Professors attending the College, who are a assigned additional duties.
