The Devourer

The Devourer is akin to a demigod. Infinite mouths across the multiverse, always hungering for more. This horror is at the center of the In-Between, pulling the strings with a vast intelligence. This intelligence however is tempered by a vast and primal hunger that drives it forward toward ever larger quantities of food.
The Devourer eats anything and everything, physical and metaphysical. Everything from gold to souls, but the more valuable the better. The value may only be someone's sentimental connection to the thing, but it makes it that much sweeter.
By manipulating those that find themselves in its realm, either psychically, or through more traditional means like intimidation and fear of death, the Devourer has cultivated an entire plane designed to do one thing. Feed it.
