Skingivers
The Skingivers are a cult/church dedicated to the The Devourer.
They cut pieces of themselves off to feed to it as a religious practice, and in return they are given a the ability to regenerate.
Practices
They will often search the Dumps for those who don't belong to the church and attempt to show them the light. Failing that, they will cut pieces off of the still living creature and slowly feed it to their god.Divine Origins
The church is grown from those wishing to appease the The Devourer and save themselves from death. They feed small parts of themselves to keep it from eating them entirely. This group would praise those who gave the most of themselves, having done the most to keep them safe. As the group grew the Devourer, who had barely noticed this, gained a small amount of deific power. Seeing this as an opportunity, it used its magic and new power to grant those members who gave most regeneration, so that it could eat them over and over. This blessing became the miracle that would truly push the Skingivers into acting like a true religious order.
Tenets of Faith
The Skingivers believe that the more of your body you give up to the Devourer, the better. Amputees are seen as sacred, regardless of how or where they lost the limb, though those that give in during a proper sacrifice are given a permanent home in the church. Those who are paralyzed are encouraged to give up anything they aren't using.
Granted Divine Powers
The most fervent members of the church are given the Devourer's Blessing, causing them to regenerate.
