Indie
The motherly daughters of the Indigo Mother.
The Indies are the predominantly-indigo but very diverse tribe carrying on the legacy of the deceased Indigo Mother. Namely, they seek peace with the other species of Inom and care for the parentless young of any and every species.
If the intent is to refer to all indigo-hued blockheads, the term "indigoes" is accepted.

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The Indies have heartily adopted Blockhead Signlang, allowing all Indies with human-like hands to communicate. They also, where applicable, hybridize their children to speak in pheromones.
Culture and cultural heritage
They follow the teachings of the Indigo Mother.
Shared customary codes and values
No child should be without a parent, even those of alien species.
Average technological level
Their tools are still very primitive. Technology offers no solutions to their problems.
Common Dress code
Indoors, there is no obligation to wear clothes, though children do wear clothes outside of their houses. Even the few adults which elect to wear clothes on their body indoors typically leave their breasts uncovered for the purposes of breastfeeding. The big exception to the general nudity among adults is the wearing of face veils, as the children of other species tend to find blockhead faces utterly terrifying.
Outside, the Indies are the only blockheads to wear shoes (sandals, usually) as casual-wear as opposed to safety gear (though it is also safety gear). Also, since it can get cold outside during the wet season, those working outside will often dress up in whatever clothes they've imported or tailored together themselves.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
If a bearer should die in childbirth, the baby is immediately adopted by the nearest relative or, failing that, the nurse.
Coming of Age Rites
When an Indie's non-indigo child grows up, she is encouraged to move down-mountain to Kidspost with the others, where she'll be less of a strain on resources and able to fill a natural social niche for her species. Non-indigo blockheads are less strongly encouraged to head down, especially if they're capable of siring young.
Funerary and Memorial customs
The dead are eaten and their bones ground into meal for the fields. In memorial, often a doll will be made to resemble the dead, to be given to her children.
Common Taboos
Hurting children is off limits, obviously. So is hurting the pregnant and active caretakers.
Historical figures
The Indigo Mother's the big one, seeing as she's a common ancestor of every single indigo in the tribe. She's also the only Mother who can be considered a historical figure as opposed to a contemporary figure.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Because beauty inherently matters little to blockheads, their children tend to have few standards or ideals as to what beauty is. Even still, they tend to vest interest in the exotic.
Courtship Ideals
In Indie society, an Indie blockhead is expected to already have adopted a child and have successfully cared for her for at least a year (and that's rushing it) before seeking a partner and having kids.
Relationship Ideals
Indies value ability to care for young above all else in both bearers and sires. Even an infertile Indie can find a wife so long as she's good with children.
