First Interstellar Expedition of the Blockhead Empire

Through sweat and blood, the blockheads had built a mighty empire on their dustball of a planet. That didn't make it any less of a dustball. After years of designing and simulation, the first manned interstellar flight to beyond the bounds of the solar system was launched. It was a simple mission-- "go out there, take readings, capture images, write logs, report, and fly back home". Communications and tracking went dead before they'd even passed the final planet in their small homesystem.   Each of the blockheads' six races contributed a bearer to lead a department and a number of sire underlings. These six leaders would become the Mothers, and fraternizing with their subordinates, they would birth the Five-and-One Tribes.

Structure

The Commander was tasked with keeping things in order and on schedule, picked from the Royal Guard for her unwavering, unquestioning loyalty. She would later become the Slate Mother, leading the Slatespawn towards an end of eventually leaving this planet.   The Lead Scientist was tasked with gathering, assessing, and packaging data from beyond the bound of the solar system. She was a compassionate sort to her underlings, and would later become the Indigo Mother, leading the Indies and adopting the orphaned of Inom to study and care for them.   The Quartermaster managed rations and work supplies with an extremely frugal hand. She got into many disputes with her colleagues for her stinginess and borderline-hoarder tendencies. She would become the Beet-Red Mother, leading the Redspawn as a clan of mercenaries.   The Chief Medical Officer managed diet and exercise for the voyage while directing her underlings in mending the wounded. She cared very much for the future of the blockhead species and very little for the dignity or suffering of food. She would become the Ashy Mother, leading the Ashlings to the eternal feast Inom's other species would provide.   The Head of Maintenance kept the ship in operation. She was ignored by her colleagues and this was fine. She would later become the Pallid Mother, teaching her Palespawn that the only ones they could rely on were themselves before tossing her girls to the jungle.   The Head Priestess kept the crew's morale up with the imperial faith, despite growing disillusioned with belief as she aged. The mysteries of Inom seized her mind and dispelled all that remained of adherence and atheism both. She would become the Navy Mother, leading her Midnighters into the depths of Inom to discover what godly being ruined this world, and how to gain its favor.

Public Agenda

To journey beyond the bounds of the solar system, look inwards, and return home, laying their brick in the foundation for travel to the galaxies beyond.

Assets

While in operation, they had a well-stocked ship. As the only Mother who remains loyal to the empire is the Slate Mother, any assets belong to the Slatespawn technically belong to the Expedition.
