Cultists that want to open The Void Seal in order to gain knowledge from the beings on the other side and to raise the God of Shadows from the dead. The cultists did find a way to commune with these beings on an extremely limited basis and have begun to create a new form of dark magic. Many refer to this new magic as the dark gift. The majority of wizards find this power distasteful (even those from Ishti Thalore, only for different reasons), but a small subset of wizards was intrigued and became the first ones to contact the Void beings. Upon receiving the dark gift several of their number went completely mad and started mindless attacking those around them, but those that didn’t go mad received power on a level that they could have never dreamt of.
The surviving wizards formed their own new circle called the Immortal Circle with themselves as the ruling council. They split up after forming the circle and most travelled to world in search of people to convert. The remaining few headed back into the depths of Fungal Wilds in order to prepare the temple for the resurrection of the void god. Most of the dwarves in Vaahd Knulheim aren’t a huge fan of the cultists being there, but they are willing to leave them be in the hopes of getting their god back.
The cultists now can be anyone that wants to seek greater knowledge; this most often attracts mages and scholars, but anyone is welcome to join the circle. The cultists all have black cloaks with a mystical effect that completely obscures the wearers face. These are typically only used for rituals, or other gathers of the circle, and it isn’t something that someone would commonly wear around. Only the Immortal Circles leaders know the secret to making the cloaks, but it is often assumed that it has something to do with the dark gift.
Secrecy is of the utmost importance to the circle, but Camadorian Rangers have become aware of the actions of the circle. They have begun hunting down the members of the Immortal Circle. Jessica has also formed here own organization to hunt them called Sun's Justice. Neither are aware of the full extent of the immortal circle’s plans.
