A craggy area in Hivernal haunted by elementals and wildlife.

Monumental Loss

The site of a century old battle between Bastirre and The Gavlandian Empire. The Bastiren General, General Hjol de Vil, and the Gavlande General, General Vincent Zeddelecki, refused their advisors and tacticians' attempts at diplomacy or advanced strategy and both armies charged into the valley. The Gavlande army won and Bastire ceded much of its territory in the central Somber Lands, but the losses were larger than fifty percent on both sides, widely considered to be one of the deadliest battles in all of history.

A Field of Sorrow

Vallée de La Mort is a place of great morose, dotted with craters formed by artillery and abandoned ordinance that has been left to sit in the several hundred years hence. According to those sensitive to Elemental influence, the area is rife with spirits and sprites. Apocryphally, the dead of the battle walk, constantly cursing the incompetence and ignorance of the prideful men that led to the horrible battle. Children of Hivernal are warned not to wander or play in the fields, for fear they might be stolen away by a vengeful spirit.
