The Gavlandian Empire
The Gavlandian Empire was an entity that ruled large portions of Albietha for a period of roughly six hundred years from around the year 1030 to the year 1633. The Gavlandian Empire was a coalition of aligned forces throughout central and Western Ablietha that had coalesced to combat the growing strength of the then-theocratic powers of the Church Soten. There was a series of conflicts between the two powers, but, ultimately, the Church Soten became its own downfall, and the people of the Gavlandian Empire were left not wanting to abandon the security and infrastructure provided by the coalition. Under the Gavlandian Empire, individual nations were allowed absolute political and economic control, with the only caveat that they provide for one another. This harmonious connection proved, eventually, to be fatal to many settlements when the Malignancy took the capital, Gavland in the first days of its horrible course.
