The Seelie Court
The Seelie Court is one of the two Major Courts within the world of the fae, with the other being the Unseelie Court.
The Seelie are known for being the kinder of the two Major Courts, being considered Light or Good amongst Humanity. The rulers that ascend to the Seelie throne have a history of being polite, something that has seem to stick to those who join into the Seelie over time.
Being a part of the Seelie court allows a fae to be "promoted" in terms of power, with being a Lesser Fae granting a small amount of increase in power just for joining with the Seelie. This has given the Major Courts a bit of an elitist view to those outside of them, particularly in the eyes of Unaligned Fae.
Structure
The Seelie Court is ruled by a single ruler, which is considered a King, Queen, or just Ruler, depending on the individuals preference. They are the face of the kingdom, and has final say over just about every major decision the court makes.
Underneath the ruler are the Seelie Nobles, a smaller court within the Seelie made of noble stock. These nobles are generals of Seelie armies, top merchants, and other leaders found within the Seelie. Their role is to advise the decisions of the ruler, and to run the kingdom.
There are several tiers of fae underneath the Ruler and the Nobles, with Lesser Fae being the bottom tier. These fae are considered average civilians and fae "working class", and are considered the least powerful type of fae within the court.
History
The Seelie - and accompanying Unseelie - are the longest existing court of fae. A lot of history has been lost, or simply not been passed on due to frequent wars and fae longevity.
