A well-equipped character can take on nearly any challenge, from surviving in the wilderness to making an impression at the king's banquet.
As a default each player starts with 150 gp, for which he can buy equipment. For list option on what equipment your character can buy see the core rulebook or the ultimate equipment books form paizo.
