Rune Pistol

Rune pistols (wand guns) are like metamagic rods and hold the essence of a metamagic feat, allowing the user to apply metamagic effects to the wand they load into the pistol as they are cast. This does not change the spell slot of the altered spell. The Rune pistol described here are use-activated and draws an attack of opportunity. A caster may only use one metamagic feat on a pistol on any given spell, and it's not possible to combine a pistol with metamagic feats possessed by its wielder.

The Rune Pistol can be loaded with a wand, and any class or user with the appropriate use magic device skills points can use this gun to make ranged attack on the target, regardless of which spell is in the wand.

The pistol shoot pellets of magical energies, the colors of the pellet depends on the spell in the wand. For example; red for fire-based spells, green for acid based, while pink is for charm effect, and white for healing.

If the create is hit a successful ranged touch attack has been made, the target rolls normally for its saving throw against the spell and the spell functions a described with the corresponding metamagic feat in the rune pistol. The user has multiple ranged attack per round the user can make multiple attacks per round, but each attack spends a charge on the wand, and the gun only works for as many charges are on the wand. Do note that non-combat spells in rapid succession can quickly overwhelm even the most seasoned spellcaster, not the mention non-spellcasters.

Changing a wand in the rune pistol takes a full round action. Those who wish to craft a Rune Pistol need to acquire Rune Metal from the Madilar.

RUNE PISTOL (BOUNCING)
