Session 4 - Spirit-Animal World

27 Anz Q Dyl     In this world: magic comes from animal-like familiars!   To get your familiar you have to complete a dangerous task   Not only people have familiars - buildings, ideals, landscapes... All things can have spirit animal-familiars and most do to some degree   These familiars can often be corrupted by (something) and turn on their hosts and everything else.   If one does not only enough dangerous tasks, but also performs a life-saving deed for someone else, they can accumulate more familiars   What type of familiar a person receives is determined by a higher power, based on the person's personality and how they solve problems, but also what problems their future has in store   The themes of this world is light, cheery, heroic and mythical.   Every familiar can give its own unique set of abilities. They are similar to schools of magic but can only give powers that they would have. For example. a house spirit that takes the form of a house cay may grant improved senses and grace as well as the ability to unlock doors, you could also turn into a house cat but you cannot turn into a dog as that is outside of its purview and not what the higher has in store.   Causing intentional danger to something with a familiar (destroying large tracts of landscapes, etc.) may cause a familiar to come out and attack in an attempt to protect their owner   Evil spirits, on the other hand, usually take the form of corrupted versions of human inventions like a twisted sentient sword, an evil man made out of bows and arrows, etc   These familiars and spirits are referred to by those in world as Kismets and their corrupted counterparts are called Omens.   by willingly and intentionally sacrificing yourself for anyone or for a higher cause and nothing more, one can become a Kismet in their next life!   Some people have made it their goal to slay/corrupt Kismets to control the use of magic in this world   Due to the fact that Omen take the shape of the darkest aspect of human invention as physical and metaphysical form, technological advancement is carefully monitored and a bit on the slow size. Weapon technology is far behind the rest, with most people still using swords, spears and bows out of fear of something like a cannon Omen     Phase 2:   Character: Himeru, the God of Kismets and the one who chooses who gets what familiar! Exists somewhere in a temple in the world, but that’s a secret.   Tradition: Festival of Himeru - people of the world will attempt to draw Himeru out of their temple by putting on a festival to them once a year including people and their Kismets telling tales of how they were paired with each other, and displays like fireworks to grab Himeru's attention   Species: Kitsumi-kon - A special species/type of Kismets who serve Himeru and aid him in collecting fallen Kismets for reincarnating in his/her big golden cauldron   Law: The Somewhere, while kismets are reincarnated in the golden cat cauldron, other species go to the somewhere while they wait for reincarnation after their deeds are judged by another bored deity. It is said that finding a way to entertain them could grant you a second chance in your old life or a higher place in your next.   Orginization: Kismonk, an organization of monks that protects Kamiru and escorts spirits to The Somewhere and Kismets to their new friends via astral projection!   Myth/Legend: Daigo, a story about a kismet who got tired of waiting in such a cramped place and jumped out of the golden cat cauldron, much to the dismay of the Kismonks; Himeru and the other god sympathized with him and decided to make him the kismet of the world so he could go wherever he pleased   Profession: Red Threads A red thread is one who hunts the Omens to slay though many seek to place them in rehabilitation. A red thread is trained by a mentor and schooled in the ways of fate, their kismets gain unique fate altering powers and they find they must be careful, for they can change the fate of whoever they meet. Identified by a red thread tied to either their thumb or pinky finger.   Document: Declaration of Himeru! It probably once held the law of how Kismets are born, but now it’s covered in inky cat paw markings...   Geography: The Mad Lands - the area commonly believed to hold the temple of Himeru; where the Declaration of Himeru was found; the land is home to extreme mountains, waterfalls, and chasms and is difficult to traverse on foot   Settlement: The Dojo of the Divine Fortunes - A martial arts academy run b cats and kismets, perched on the top of one of the extreme mountains in the Mad Lands   Character: Nekokanashi, The goddess of The Somewhere. The distant wife of Himeru, Nekokanashi is the goddess of death who wields a set of scales and a ball of yarn. She weighs the souls of those who died just before reincarnation. The worst or the most boring lives are tied into the ball of yarn. Every day at sunset she enjoys playing with that ball of yarn, as it is one of the few things that bring her entertainment. souls must spend a lifetime in the ball to be released and start the cycle of rebirth anew...as a mouse..
