Imaginaerium, Day 6 - Music of the Spheres

A writer is a world trapped in a person.
— Victor Hugo
Another day, another chance to create. As July storms inevitably towards us, now is really our chance to stock up on ideas. What are you all reading or watching in this last week before Summer Camp?

Video Recommendation

What the hell is a Hurdy Gurdy?   Hurdy Gurdy is one of the more unusual instruments out there - it's a sort of stringed, hand-cranked instrument with a keyboard of buttons. They're very uncommon (something reflected in their pricetag - for a fun bonus, go check out what they cost).   If you want an idea for some instrument or music for your world that's something other than the regulars, check it out:         As a bonus, here's an episode on the Hurdy Gurdy from the always excellent Down The Rabbit Hole

Game Recommendation

We're going to try something different! I'm going to talk about games I enjoy, and think will either inspire ideas or be a nice little recovery from an all-night binge-writing session.   Today, I'm going to talk a little bit about Project Remedium. It isn't the best game (or even particularly good), but the level design and art is very interesting, as you are inside a sick human body to machinegun down some evil viruses. Yes, it's that old movie, made into an FPS with a grappling hook and nanobot rebellions.   Check it out here:

Music Recommendation

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets is a Cthulhu-inspired parody band, with songs like "Shoggoths Away!" and albums like "Shadow Out of Tim" to really be funny.
