Townmaster
A townmaster is the lowest noble title in StormHaven, the holder of this title is only given control of a single settlement and its surrounding area. However the title is a coveted one, as becoming A townmaster is one of the few ways a commonor can gain a noble title. Ambitious families have in the past, used the rank of Townmaster to eventually make themselves Dukes.
Appointment
While the title of townmaster is typically a hereiditary position it is not always the case. Tradition dictates that the first born child of a townmaster, boy or girl, is typically the first choice, but if the local higher ranking Lord does not believe them to be a good choice, they can take the matter to the Duke, or King, and try to name someone else.
