Cath Amalor
Cath Amalor is the most well known Graveyard in all of Stormhaven, this hollowed graveyard began as a mass grave to those who died in the battle of Shattered Honor, this battle was the largest battle to occur in Stormhaven during the Gods War, it was fought during the Starfall, thousands of Stormhaven Knights lost their lives that day, but thousands more lives were saved as the defenders managed to outlast the forces of Vordakai.
Cath Amalor is the Elvish name for this graveyard, and is the commonly used name for it in Illios, in common the name translates to Sancutary for the Noble Heart.
Purpose / Function
Houses the remains of the most honored Knights in Stormhaven, and the Royal Family.
Alterations
The central mousoleum was added in 323 S.F. to accomdate the royal family. Which has been entombed in Cath Amalor ever since.
Architecture
Cath Amalor is designed as a series of rings, with many famous knights being buried in the rings, there are 5 passages to the underground catacombs. The stairwells are located at each of the 4 quadrants, and the last staircase is located in the mausoleum in the center. The mousoleum at the center is reserved for the royal family.
History
Built on the site of the last Battle of the Gods War fought in Stormhaven during Starfall.
