Sakura Nightshade

Warrior

Written by Luna PawPaw

Warrior Lena Emerald Agate (a.k.a. Sakura Nightshade)

Note: This is an old version of Sakura's description, I'm working on making a new one, but it will probably take some time since the entire story and a lot of the lore of Hunig changed.

Sakura, the main character of the Nightshade series this World Anvil world is based off of (ahem, fourth wall break, ahem), used to be Princess Lena of Macaroon (This isn't a spoiler, she tells you in the first chapter.). When she was five, her death was faked and she was removed from the castle. No one ever saw her when she was Lena. She was renamed Sakura Scal. As Sakura, she was adopted by a mercouple. As they lived and died, Sakura was kept in the family, essentially becoming a living family heirloom. The deaths of her 'family members' every twenty-five years or earlier took a toll on her mental health, and a young dark elf woman named Spirit noticed this pretty quickly.

Spirit, a young adult, made freinds with child Sakura over eighteen years and offered to adopt her so she wouldn't have to keep facing the deaths of people she accidentally got close to. Sakura quickly agreed, for Spirit was the most motherly person she'd ever had in her life.

Spirit fought against some of the laws of Fritelle, ended up winning, and adopted Sakura as her daughter. Sakura's last name was changed to Spirit's surname, Nightshade. They lived as a happy family for about fourty-five years until Spirit's flesh was ripped from her bones by Dark Dolorous' flies while Sakura and Spirit took a nighttime stroll in the nearby graveyard. Sakura was heavily injured both physically and mentally, but she wasn't dead.

Sakura was taken care of at the home of a nurse in Macaroon's hospital for a few years, only being let out to attend Spirit's funeral. Despite how loved she was by the people in Fritelle's training center, very few people actually had the time to attend the poorly-held ceremony.

After Spirit's death, Sakura was readopted by the Scal family. She did, however, insist on keeping the surname NIghtshade. It was one of the times she actually had a backbone. And thus, she repeatedly began watching the people around her die of old age again. It was, as you'd imagine, very depressing.

At the age of 168, Sakura learned that the position of the prince of Macaroon's bodyguard had once again been opened. She promptly applied and was accepted. The feeling of freedom was absolutely revolutionary to her. Then the plot of the story happened.

Come back next time when I've finished the first book, 'Focus', whenever that is, for an updated version of this article with the plot of the first book added to Sakura's article!

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Strong, lean, inflicted with Ceilon's Curse

Body Features

Skin is very scarred from injurie sustained from either training or past events.

Facial Features

She has baby-face syndrome, for lack of better terminology. The long, thick scar over her right eye and the smaller, but still thick scar on her left cheek, however, make her look much older than she would otherwise.

Identifying Characteristics

She's very tall and has lighter skin than most dark elves. In addition, if Ceilon's Curse is showing, you'll know it's her right away.

Apparel & Accessories

She either wears a suit of elven-made armor without the helmet or a black, baggy sweater with blue bell bottoms.

Specialized Equipment

She carries her sword with her everywhere, regardless of whether it's a dangerous, monster-filled land or the library

Mental characteristics

Education

In terms of education, she pretty much taught herself how to read and write in her spare time. She enjoys reading whatever she can get her hands on while she's eating dinner or breakfast. If she, by some miracle, gets a day off, she'll spend it hiding in the local library.

Employment

Sakura Nightshade is Prince Leon's bodyguard.

Accomplishments & Achievements

She taught herself how to read and write out of sheer determination. She also got a job as Prince Leon's bodyguard.

Mental Trauma

Her princess privilages were pretty much taken away when she was five. Only a little bit after that, she was forced to become a warrior in Fritelle, the place where she was relocated. In addition, when she was young, she watched her adopted mother, who had fought hard against Fritelle's legal system to even adopt her in the first place, get eaten by flies. She not only sustained mental injuries but also physical injuries from that event.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

While she'd say it's just for her work, it's more so for preserving the feeling of freedom her work brings her.

Social

Family Ties

Leon-Brother

Religious Views

She respects the gods but doesn't willingly worship any specific one of them. She was, however, forced to primarily worship Ballad and Ceilon.

Social Aptitude

Sakura can be quite blunt and borderline rude, but she can also be polite if she feels the situation calls for it.
