Stevenes

The Stevenes are the remains of a people that used to live in the Siala Islands before The Third World War and while the Sialan people stayed, the Stevenes were persecuted enough that they left during the war (many of them were killed as their areas of the Islands were the most popular spots for the staging of the Anderstern attack on Poe, and the ones that weren't became prosecuted for the cultural idea that they were the people who didn't fight hard enough, who gave up their homeland).  The people that fled during this attack became the Stevenes and they found themselves resettled toward the western border of No-Man's Land by HIPA - Homeland Inclusive People Authority mostly because they were a disgraced people and were discriminated against, with the other citizens of the continent not thinking they deserved a better home than the one they left.  They've currently have set up small settlements of building mostly made of recycled parts and sheets of metal from displaced war machines and wreckage from No-Man's Land and are trying to regrow some of the forests that were lost in the war.  While they are not totally willing to cross No-Man's Land they, generally as a people, will venture into it for scavaging as this is their last and sometimes only resort, unlike the people on the continent who believe that this area is completely cursed and won't go near it.  Because of this belief by the rest of the world's people, the Stevenes are also thought of as a curse people, and they are mostly avoided and ignored.  It's best, if venturing out of Stevenes territory, for these people to change their names and never mention when they were born.
