Mageweed Farms
Mageweed is the only crop grown in these farms, although there are many strains. The farms are run by the halflings, who have been made very rich from farming it. Until recently, only Humans (and 1/2 humans) could make use of this plant's unique abilities, but the Thorn clan has recently created a version that will work with any race.
Of course, most people feel that this was possible all along and that this new strain was "created" to deal with the downfall of their largest customer, the Korlann Empire.
Geography
The area is a large plain, that nestles up to the the southern edge of The Great Range . There are two rivers that feed the area, coming from lakes up in the mountains. It is extremely fertile soil.
Fauna & Flora
This area is largely cultivated land, and as such has few natural denizens other than weeds, and small plant eaters. The main flora is Mageweed.
Mageweed
This herb, when ingested as a tea or smoked, will enhance the casting of spells in various ways. The most common is a general use weed and will increase your skill with any spell you cast. It will leave you calm and aloof while it is affecting you, although sometimes the type of magic you use will influence this mood.A few common Strains
DeadWeedMakes dealing with the dead and dying much easier. The user will appear a bit gaunt and/or pale and will adopt a sombre mood. FireWeed
All direct energy dealing spells are enhanced in both power and area. Someone on Fireweed will be easily roused to intense emotion and direct aggressive action. GlamourWeed
Focused on Illusion magic, this adds a layer of realism making illusions more believable. A Glamhead is very likely to deceive or play tricks on those around them, even if this is not normally in their nature. If it is, the tricks can get rather complex or even dangerous. DreamWeed
This enhances dream and divination magic, although it makes its users seem in a trance or simply unfocused most of the time they are on it.
