Phrog Species in Hoomanland | World Anvil

Phrog

Phrogs are a Homeworld species of frog. They are also an invasive species on Nasgovia as some specimens had managed to survive the crash of the HCS Zaurak and escape into the Nasogivan environment.   Their diet mostly consists of insects and small fish and they are usually found at ponds and lakes.

Appearance

Phrogs come in a variety of colours, though they are most commonly blue. They also have 2 sets of pink eyes.   Phrogs have two sets of legs, the front being much stronger and longer than the back set which they use to propel themselves long distances.

Lifecycle

Like most kinds of frogs, Phrogs have 4 stages to their life cycle: The Egg stage, The Tadpole Stage, The Developmental Stage and then adulthood, which they will then produce eggs for the cycle to begin all over again.   Phrogs will lay their eggs most commonly in ponds and more sheltered areas in lakes. They will usually lay the eggs in small batches in different locations to increase the chances that some of their young will survive.

Reception

Phrogs are very popular with Hoomans and are sometimes kept as pets. There is also many phrog-related items such as plushies that are popular, especially with the younglins. Hoomans have also developed an exercise based on the Phrogs.   There have been attempts by the Environment and Agriculture Sector to try and regulate their numbers in the wild on Nasgovia, since there are concerns on how it'll affect other species.
