Celestial

The Angelic Servants of God

According to Files obtained from Vigilant, they are angelic like beings that reside on 'highest' plane of Otherworld, typically referred to as heaven or paradise in most cultures. They usually act as messengers and warriors for their creator according to lore. Incidents involving them as described by Vigil operatives seem to resemble militant enforcers as the always point out how their actions are of accordance with their creator. They seem to be more active back during ancient history but they’ve been absent as of late. More research is needed at the moment.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Files state that like other aethereal races they are shape shifters so there form can resemble anything, which explains the inconsistencies in lore regarding there appearances. There most common appearance that Vigil and Institute were willing to agree upon was that they normally a pure energy humanoid being or core with a pair of aether wings. The number vary depending on their respective power.

Genetics and Reproduction

Files from the Arcane Institute state that unlike their Deity counterparts, Celestial may not be able to or they are not truly capable physically reproducing. They came to the conclusion given that no real child or hybrid of this race seems to exist and in most descriptions they always seems to manually created by the same figure. Speculation believes that due to them being based around this 'Architect' mentioned before in other files, that this might have played a part in why reproduction is dee.

Ecology and Habitats

Rumors say that these beings inhabit the higher dimensional plane dubbed the Other-world. According to bystanders who have somehow traveled through said plane would later state how Celestials live in a golden palace like structure that reigns over the universe from up above. Since Otherworld is a place that can act as a shortcut to multiple realities and or planes, the Celestials themselves have access to all these places. Here they also govern over all the ejected souls that have lost their bodies upon death and came here as a result, though they tend to toss aside souls to the 'hellish' portion of the Otherworld that didn't meet their standards.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Like most aether based races they don't need to consume food to retain their strength, but rather cycle through resident aether to perform said task instead.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Supposedly their are certain groups designed for particular task within their society, such as activities requiring them to interact with the physical reality, Other-world affairs, management, etc. Rumors also go into that those with more than just two aetheral wings has more power and authority than those who do. Others state that their society is ruled by those referred to as the Order of Heaven, which is ruled by those dubbed as the Archangels. Then around 1800's where there was confirmation that there are different types that were created to fulfill a certain task and remain in that role until promoted to Archangel, where it alters their complete form and design.

The Order of Heaven according to sources, confirmation is needed.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

They have their own distinct language that can connect to every language that exist across reality.

Common Taboos

History

These beings have appeared to go pretty far back as those who match their description or role have been apparent since the ancient Sumerians. If the accounts made by Elves regarding their lore during the supposed Lost Age on the subject these beings came from across space and claimed to be the artificially created servants of the great creator, dubbed by Arcane Institute scholars the Architect. According to these accounts they claim that these beings were sent over to protect the Earth from becoming the Forsaken next claim and only stayed around to watch over their prison, which has yet to be located by our investigators.     For the next few hundred years they would appear every so often around the world either to carry out particular tasks or to convince denizens of small nations to follow their beliefs regarding the importance of their creator. This obviously led to the foundation of a belief system that over the centuries would grow and become one of the biggest sets of religions on the planet. The sightings regarding these beings though would diminish as time goes on based on the Lookout reports, to the point where even we are questioning whether or not we can say they actually exist. The only reason we are including them is because many of the reports made by many long living races such as the Elves and the Dragons refuse to budge regarding their existence.     Either way this race has been deemed highly dangerous given if the reports regarding them are true then they have a tendency to smite those deemed to be heretics or enemies of their creator.

Historical Figures

The Archangels who run their society that we have the names consisting of:
  • Michael, who has been described to be their strongest warrior who has been known for partaking in major conflicts on the cosmic scale. Supposedly he even fought in the aforementioned Lost Age.

  • Raphael, who similar to Gabriel was described to be a member of this group by individuals but have yet to receive real confirmation.
