Jorga Greywing
Jorga was a halfling Rogue/Bard, and is best known for being a member of Hralldan Dawncaller adventuring party. He also wrote many songs that told this history of their time together, as well as the history of the ages and its people. He bonded with the Elven Queen, Ila Irdleliem, but they separated before their deaths. He is the founder of the Dark Guild, although his involvement and for how long remains a mystery.
History
Early Life
Jorga was born in the year 49 AG in the rolling hills of Boroughton, in the Kingdom of Epixus. His parents disappeared when he was very young, and was raised by his grandfather. He mastered music at a very young age, but at the age of 29, upon finding out his grandfather used to be an adventurer, set out on his own to see the world. He made it as far as Bardpointe, a small coastal town on the edge of the Kingdom, before running into Hralldan, who invited him on a journey to slay the Black Dragon, Malataxes. They, along with an Elven companion that Hralldan recruited, named Ilyana Torcaryn, drove off the dragon, but failed to slay it.
Adult Life
He continued to travel with Hralldan for several years after, seeing new lands and writing songs that he planned to sing upon his return home. One of his most popular songs became a love ballad he wrote after they rescued Hralldan's lover, Pallmir Cinderhair, named The Remorhaz That Melted an Icy Heart. However, the Sunset War broke out, and he heard that many of the towns, including Boroughton, were caught up in the conflict. He convinced Hralldan and Ilyana to return to their homeland and assist the Kingdom drive off the Sea Peoples.
Boroughton was destroyed in the conflict, and Jorga turned down a dark path as the war dragged on. He learned how to sneak and stab during the war, and ultimately plotted to assassinate the Elven Queen, Ila Irdleliem. During the assassination attempt however, upon seeing her beautiful golden hair, he dropped his dagger and professed his love for her on the spot. She told him of the Disaster of Unara and the troubles of the Valdoreians. Convinced of their plight and overtaken by her beauty, he convinced Hralldan and Ilyana to switch sides. This moment turned the tide of the war, as the companions had become legendary by this point, and brought about a quick end to the conflict
Jorga oversaw the relocation of the Valdoreians into Epixus, and created music that are the only surviving records of the Disaster, so whether they are merely myths or legends for the songs, or they are the truth that Jorga tried to retell, is impossible to say.
Near the end of the Age of Gods, when the six Prime Demons invaded the Hidden Realm, Jorga and his companions fought to slay five of them, but the sixth proved too powerful, and Hralldan sacrificed himself to seal the Prime Demon. Jorga and Ilyana recounted the events that transpired tearfully, and Jorga wrote his final song in memory of his friend, titled The One Who Gave it All.
Later Life and Death
Following the death of their friend and leader, the two life-long friends finally split and went their separate ways. Jorga never wrote music again, nor did he perform. He instead assisted his partner lead her people into the new age, and attempted to take up his friend's place as leader of the Martial Guild. An incident happened between Jorga and a Dwarf named Bil Fyn, that is up to speculation, but Jorga departed the guild, and instead founded the Dark Guild.
The dark underworld of the guild grew during the founding of the Age of Heroes, but his dark path drew him further away from Ila, until finally he disappeared altogether. He was never seen again, but the rumors of him still running his underworld lasted for many decades beyond. The last rumors of his involvment in the Dark Guild ended around the time Ila passed away.
Legacy
Lorekeeper
His songwriting ability was considered world-class of his time, and much of his music are the only remains of historical accounts of events that transpired during the end of the Age of Gods. His music is still often played in taverns today, and is a staple in any good Bard's repertoir. Some examples of his oral histories would be the songs, No Refuge for Refugees, a recounting of the Disaster of Unara and the Sunset War; The Elf With Hair of Gold, a love ballad he penned for his true love, Ila; The One Who Gave it All, a song recounting the deeds of his good friend and companion, Hralldan, and also The Remorhaz That Melted an Icy Heart, which was another ballad he wrote about the relationship of Hralldan and Pallmir.
Dark Guild
The Dark Guild remains mostly a mystery, however its exploits are well known. The assassinations, murders, robbings, and heists are all well known throughout Veland, but it's not known how much of his involvment has shaped the Dark Guild into how it is known today.
