River Hwanhir
The River Hwanhir is surrounded on both sides by a marsh with a reputation for an extensive reptile, mammal, fish and bird-life. The waters fill what was once a shallow lake.
The whole valley is the home of a small and peculiar Dunlending group, the Nenhir.
Geography
The River Hwanhir rises in the White Mountains of Andrast and flows eastwards to join the River Lefnui.
Localized Phenomena
In spring, the whole marsh can be covered with several feet of crystal-clear water while the high-summer sees the levels lower and made up of many small channels and ponds. This change in water level is catered for by the locals by their constructing their residences on floating mats of reeds.
