Hell
Hell is the main setting in Hellverse. It is home to many regions and species of demon. Over all it is a pretty hostile place. It has roughly the same square mileage as earth and encompasses many different biomes.
Geography
Hell's primary geographic feature is a distinct lack of water, save a handful of pockets. Its land mass is suspended in space, called The Void. It is a mess of plains and rugged mountain ranges. To the far "North" is the land of Brimstone where the dragons reside. It is a place of molten lava and noxious gasses, inhospitable to most other Hellions. The direction in which it resides is called "Firebound", because of this distinction. On the "Western" edge is the Deadlands and Nightside. This direction is called "Deathbound" by those in Hell Proper and "Voidbound" by those in Nightside. Just "West" is the mysterious mountain range called the Ghostlands, covered in mist and acting as a border between the vampire territory of Nightside and Lucifer's empire known as Hell Proper. Hell Proper is a large territory just "South" of Brimstone and "East" of the Ghostlands. It is mostly flat plains but has a few sand dunes and mountains. In Hell Proper, the "Eastern" direction is called "Voidbound" but in Nightside it is called "Heavenbound" as a reference to Lucifer's angelic origins. To the "South" is the Plaguelands, a toxic jungle were volatile life thrives and cannibalizes any who wander in. As a result the "Southern" direction is called "Plaguebound". Finally the far "East" home to Nocturn, also known as the void sands. No one rules over the drifting fragments of land crumbling over the void.
Ecosystem
Hell during the day is nearly 140 degrees Fahrenheit throughout while at night the average temperature is -130 degrees Fahrenheit. It is extremely dry in most places.
Localized Phenomena
Hell does not orbit or rotate any celestial bodies. Instead 24 hour day cycles are determined by a shift in sky color. In the Deathbound sky there is a large white light called the Morningstar. That side of the sky is red and during the day, the red stretches almost all the way across to the far Voidbound sky, where the smaller Eveningstar is. At night, from the Eveningstar's side, the sky bleeds black, stretching almost to the Morningstar. Weather never involves water (like rain or snow) in hell but there are frequent dust storms and tornados in Hell Proper.
