House Baras

The reclusive mountain lords of House baras are a minor household located in the north eastern realms, being located on the borderlands to the sjeri Badlands north of the sanguine wall, house baras most often defend their realm from invading forces, aswell as contend with the politics of Atemu who seek their assistance and if not lands, while their obligations to house Ramlar means they must carefully balance the wishes of both houses.

House Baras are master builders, creating great fortifications in their mountain holdings to hold off the badland hordes. Baras not having the numbers to face the hordes directly prefer to wait out the storm in the castle holdings, lending only their might in pin point attacks to disrupt and drive off their foes, teaching to their members that mobility and initiative is the mightiest weapon a man can hold, for though they are dependant on their great fortresses most of their members will be found in small hidden enclaves in mountains striking at their foes with great ferocity and brutality before disappearing into the mountains. The members of house Baras view their task with a solemn and dour attitude, but to them their honour is most important and their ancient ties to house Ramlar who granted their founder the lands of the mountain and must therefor defend the lands entrusted to them.

The lands of house Baras are mainly barren, consisting of few settlements an mainly goat herders and the quarries from which the house builds their fortifications, and offer to other clans as excellent building material.

The common folk of Baras are considered the charge of the house and great lengths are often taken In ensuring their protection and what of their herds can be saved and for this they are greatly respected, but a lingering resentment is often found among many families, for in Baras lands conscription is mandatory and all most serve when the house calls.

Much like the house of Khalid age is venerated trait and greatly respected, though they are too close to front lines to offer any real retirement choices, beyond training the next generation and serving permanently
