Yeong
the Collector
Yeong is one of the two aiding deities to Younin in harvesting and transferring the spirits of the dead to the afterlife. While Mohm separates the spirit from the body, Yeong will collect the spirit and guide it towards the bridge beween the living and the dead world.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Both, Yeong and Mohm, are mostly depicted as cats or hooded figures with the stylised silhouette of a cat. Yeong is typically portrayed as a white cat with a black face or black markings in the face. If a figure, they typically don a red hooded cloak with a blacked-out, invisible, face and white robes underneath, and carry a bell staff to guide the spirits. As cat, it is not uncommon for them to either also don a red hood or a red collar that holds one or several bells.
Holidays
Like the other deities surrounging death, Yeong receives offerings on the 10th Chosaengdal, which is the Day of the Dead.
