Bogle

"Did you know there are peaceful goblins? They call themselves Bogles, which in turn led us to call them boglins. They have lots of little tribes scattered around the Nairam mountains. Mostly hunter/gatherer-types. Now what you’ll never hear anywhere else is that the reavers openly trade with these tribes, and they build fully functional little villages near our forts. Curious little buggers!"
Warden Favne, Reaver Siege Commander
Bogles (often referred to as boglins) are a type of goblinoid living in the Nairam mountains. Unlike their goblinoid brethren, these creatures preferred to live peacfully in small tribes, even trading with the reavers. Their way of life led to them to having a greater intelligence and longer lifespans than other goblinoids.

Description

Bogles have a round head shape with a small forehead. Their faces are dominated by a wide mouth with small fangs coming from the underjaw. They have long, pointy ears that points downwards or to the sides, but very rarely upwards. They grow hair on their head that never seems to get longer than a couple of inches, and their hair color varies from light browns to light greys to white. After reaching maturity, the men also grow short beards. Their eye colors ranged from blue to green to yellow, with some having light grey eyes. An adult boglin stands 3'1'' - 3'6'' tall and weighs on average 60 lb.

Bogles usually dresses in tunics made from fox or rabbit hides. Sometimes they would have shirts and scarves made with fabric from trade with the reavers. Both men and women would wear ear rings made from bone or traded metals, and the men would weave bone or metal beads into their short beards, a custom coming from the dwarves.

Personality

Unlike their violent brethren, bogles try to live peaceful lives, believing that life is not only for the strongest and most violent, but also for those who are weaker and perhaps wiser. Leadership in boglin tribes falls to those who have lived long lives, promoting experience over battle prowess. Though not being as intelligent as their dwarven neighbours, nothing beats a boglin's sense of curiosity. Learning new things, no matter how miniscule, always brings a smile upon their faces, and sharing this new information with one's tribe is considered a major virtue.
