The Valantari are the people who live in Valantar, not to be mistaken for the Valantarian greater ethnic group,   Valantari tend to resemble the Celts of Terra, Light, Freckled skin, Red, light brown, blond or white hair Very clear eyes, blue or green,   they are typically shorter than the rest of the Valantarians males averaging around 5'4" normally not getting taller than 5'10" but there are the rare cases of them being taller, women averaging 5'2" normally not getting any taller than 5'8"

While not all the people of Valantar are ethnic Valantari, the Valantari consider anyone who settles and lives in their country to be of their country so each person who moves permenantly and settles in Valantar are welcomed into a Clan, generally the one that controls the village they live in or one that their job brings them into contact with more often.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Almost all citizens of Valantar are tattooed in some way, most with a handful denoting clan, Sept and profession along with some memorial inkwork but some have dozens if not hundreds of small inking covering their bodies from foot to face.   Most of the tattoos mean little to those outside thier immediate kin or fellow professionals but others are symbols of status, and yet others granted to a select few and only known by the masters of the tattooing arts and orators of living history.   Tattoo artists are well respected and well looked after by their septs and clans, well paid, they can tell you the history of every tattoo they ever did, and that of their teachers and their teachers teacher as far back as their line of succession goes

Birth & Baptismal Rites

The Birth of a child into any family is celebrated by every adult member of the family and friends of the parents bringing a small present, nothing elaborate is expected, just a little something to help the new parents look after the new bundle of joy. They will often be clothes or cloth nappies, or soft toys for the early days of childhood.
