Bedrock

Bedrock is the lowest (elevation) district within the city of Demmanos.  Technically it is a mining pit that descends to a depth well below the surface, though there are pockets of leveled outposts and squares that house homes and barracks for the miners and Demmanosian soldiers.  Access to the district and it's lower levels can be found only in The Underground and by a select few hidden lifts and stairways.

Dangers lurk within the caverns of the Underground, through various cave-ins, carnivorous plants, and denizens of the Underdark.  Miners are always accompanied by soldiers specifically trained in close quarter combat to help prevent a disaster in this regard.

Defences

The Demmanosians have converted large and small pockets of landings into outposts and forts capable of funneling in attackers, harrying predators, and outlasting sieges.  They can also manufacture devastating cave-ins to cut off invasions or infiltrations.  As a fundamental rule the outposts are well stocked and tended also should a cave-in cut them off from the city.   

Industry & Trade

Precious minerals such as Bone, Cold Iron, Gems, Magiron, Mithral, and silver are found deep in the earth within this district and are harvested daily.  

Guilds and Factions

A number of Miners Guilds have formed over the centuries and have united under the City's government.  As such there is a strong city pride among the Miner's Guild that sets them apart from National organizations that they deem as "Outsiders."  The Miner's Guilds hotly oppose the authority of the Congregation of Merchants but have reluctantly traded with them in The Underground.
