Moonlighter's Den

"Take a step.
Take a chance.
Will you make it through
To the Moonlighter's Den?"
— Thieves' Chant

Purpose / Function

The Moonlighter's Den started out as a small cave on the coast of Minerva, just outside of the city of Calliste. The Calliste Thieves Guild would meet the Rube Raiders, the Captivating Corsairs, and the Mischievous Marauders. They would travel overland to get to the cliff, where they would use a pulley system to lower or raise the contraband to the shore below. The cave, Moonlighter's Den, was used to store the goods.

Alterations

As city of Calliste grew and took over the surrounding area, the Calliste Thieves Guild explored the cave system and found out that it was a mass of caves, passages, and caverns that led to the main sewer system of Calliste. This allowed them easier access to travel to and from the coast without having to know patrol route or bribe guards. The guild bought the buildings surrounding the closet access point to the sewer system, and set up shops and businesses. They enlarged the caverns, passages, and caves, placed traps and false trails, and made the way to coast entrance hard to find and dangerous.   The largest cavern became the Moonlighter's Den, a safe haven and meeting place for the Calliste Thieves Guild. Off the Moonlighter's Den are sets of smaller caverns where thieves can stay for a time, or rent month to month. Derek Frankton Longhurst III, the Guildmaster and his band of thieves have permanent rooms. Before getting to the Moonlighter's Den, there are a series of caves that have been set up for meeting rooms. This set up has lasted to this day.

Cool place! I think it'd be interesting to have a sample of the sort of traps that the thieves have outfitted this place with.   PS: There is potentially a small typo: closet -> closest
