  An Elder Mage is a magic user who has wielded magic consistently and passionately during their life span. Magic's effect on the body can be both subtle and profound. Magic influences both the physical and metaphysical aspects of the practitioner.
 

Qualifications

Before becoming an Elder Mage, a mage must complete the stages of Initiate Mage, Apprentice Mage, Journeyman Mage, and Master Mage. Age and longevity so not guarantee all Mage Mages become Elder Mages.
  An Initiate Mage must complete no less than five years of education taught at Kwal Naziri. An Apprentice Mage must continue their education at Kwal Naziri until they have completed a body of work that meets the approval of a council of Elder Mages. Once complete, they move up to Journeyman Mage where they spend at three years under the tutelage of a specific mage in their field of study. They must complete a master work to move on to Master Mage. This is where most mages will stay for the majority of their life. To become an Elder Mage, the Master Mage must be in good standing with the Mage Guild and complete an magical magnum opus that is approved by a counsel of Elder Mages.
