Yezok
The Spiritual Emperor of the Suneka
Yezok the Lawgiver, Spiritual Emperor of the ancient Spiritual Empire of All Suneka.
He was a humble human from Tuzek, an exiled prince who fought for his crown. In his youth, he was close friends and allies with the great assassin Amati - before Amati betrayed him after their greatest victory. Amati's murder of Yezok was deemed tragic enough by heavenly watchers for Yezok to become a Ghost. Yezok drifted for years after, gathering other ghosts to his side. In death, he was driven by two fundamental desires: for vengeance against Amati, and for order and stability for his rightful "subjects". Yezok's idealism infected the many ghosts that he found, and he fashioned an army from their listless mass. With an undying host at his back, Yezok stormed Amati's palace and seized the fragile Empire that Amati had built. Yezok would not abide by Amati's decentralized chaos: he would make harmony and order eternal, a world without war or division.
And so, Yezok and his ghost legions scoured the kingdoms of the living. He reforged them into the Spiritual Empire of All Suneka, to which he gave an extreme and unyielding legal code. All people would be under one law, one culture, one crown, and one religion. Armies of his subjects conquered more and more for his Law. Over the years, he grew less and less coherent and attached to the mortal life he had lived a century ago. He became like Law incarnate, and his rulings became draconian. In 605, The Exorcist's Guild formed to dethrone him and his ghostly princes. Yezok was banished from this world to Purgatory, before the Lunar Pantheon lifted him to Paradise. None know what has become of him in heaven.
Yezok is remembered as a spirit of law and authority in Sunekan religion - an ascended demigod. As a historical figure, he is understood to have been draconian and unyielding at times, but he is said to have chosen to move on for this reason in a consensual exorcism.
