Alchemy

Alchemy is the art of chemistry and medicine, particularly in its use creating healing elixirs. While rudimentary studies of chemistry and medicine have existed in nearly every community around the world, true alchemy is notable in its ability to harness the latent healing energies of the God Halycon through a careful process that is equal parts ritual and chemistry.
True alchemy is an intensive process requiring time, instruments, ingredients, and practical knowledge and technique. The purer and more powerful the healing essence, the more time and skill are required.

Inventor(s)

It is said that true alchemy was a gift from the Gods to the child Eriv, after his father Nadram (the first Dhampire ventured around the world seeking a cure for Eriv's Gem Plague. The first record of healing potions dates back to 539 DE, with the first school of true alchemy formed in 100DE.

Access & Availability

The Shekotan Healing Church in Samvara has a near monopoly on true alchemy, and guards its methods carefully. That said, the knowledge has gotten out- particularly in the Southwestern lands of Garadel, Sonev, Ibith, and Ekraht, where new Alchemist groups have formed their own independent schools. In the Northeastern lands of Samvara and Suneka, druidic circles known as the Circles of Life have a near-monopoly on alchemy, though efforts to uncover the secret have recently allowed other Sunekan priests to produce their own.
