Summary

After the investigation into Henry Buffett, CJ received a call from The Truth, who told him that they needed to meet immediately at Fisher's Lagoon, as he had some extremely important information to share. CJ asked why he could not tell him over the phone and why he was being so scarce on details, however The Truth refused to divulge his reasoning, insisting only that they meet. In reality, The Truth was concerned about his communications being tapped by The Custodian.   Upon arrival, CJ found The Truth in a small cabin beside the lagoon. The Truth attempted to reveal what he knew, specifically that The Custodian was not to be trusted. He also attempted to communicate that he'd found the source of the myths "The myths, where they're coming from... it's in the woods, it's- ". However, before he could finish, he was killed instantly by a sniper round to the head. CJ took cover from the sniper, and as he scrambled around the cabin he found some some grenades in The Truth's possession. By using the grenades, he was able to great a smoke screen that allowed him to get into water, and then swim away covertly.   CJ soon resurfaced a distance down the coast, and immediately phoned Eve Matthews, demanding an explanation as to why she'd killed The Truth, suspecting it was her as the assassination was committed using her weapon of choice. However, Eve revealed that she had nothing to do with it, and that she wasn't even in the area at the time. CJ realised not a moment too soon what he already knew deep down - that it was The Custodian's doing, and The Custodian was onto him. He also realised he was using his phone, which The Truth had advised him not to do for fear of being traced. His time for processing was minimal as a helicopter and two Prospero cars stormed into the area, all filled with agents shooting to kill. Using his skills, he was able to defeat them and flee from the area.   When in safety, CJ used a public phone in order to contact Sarah Williams. He warned her that The Custodian was onto them, and that she needed to go dark and get as far away from Prospero Headquarters as possible for her own safety. Though reluctant to CJ's insistence, she agreed that she would. Afterwards, CJ phoned Eve and informed her what had happened, and apologised for his outburst earlier. Since she was one of the only other people he could trust, he asked her to investigate the woods for the source of the myths whilst he went and confronted his boss.   CJ then left to return to Prospero H.Q. himself to confront The Custodian once and for all.
