The war that split the underdark

For many years leading up to this, many dwarf clans became more fragmented and distrusting. As more of the Underdark was mined, small clan wars broke out. Grudges were formed and more conflict ensued. Soon the entire Underdark was ablaze with war. Clans were fighting each other for everything from political reasons to meaningless one. After more than a century of fighting the clans began to unite into two factions, Mirathis and Gittimoore. The wars lasted another century and a half. Mirathis almost achieved a complete victory until Plutoria intervened revealing to the world that Gittimoore had signed a treaty and joined the Plutorian Empire. With their new allies Gittmoore pushed Mirathis back and would have continued if it was not for the Emperor and the High King signing a peace treaty. The war left a bad taste in the mouths of every dwarf clan involved, both sides were denied victory.
